Review
This is a quick review
Gish isn't your average hero, in fact he's not your average anything...see Gish is a ball of tar. A Sunday stroll with his lady friend Brea goes awry when a shadowy figure emerges from an open man hole and pulls Brea into the ground below. Following Brea's calls for help Gish suddenly finds himself in the subterranean sewers of Dross, a long forgotten city filled with twisting corridors, evil traps and some of the most demented creatures imaginable. With his gelatinous structure as his only means of defense, Gish must follow the echoing cries of his damsel in distress deep into the earth below. What freakish creatures dwell in this subterranean land? Who is Brea's captor? And just how far down does the rabbit hole go? Life isn't easy when you're a 12 pound ball of tar... Gish can be purchased stand-alone or as part of Stardock?s game distribution system www.totalgaming.net. TotalGaming.net members can purchase games at discounted rates using a unique token system. Gish is an arcade platform game developed by Chronic Logic. It seems that in the last few years, independent developers have focused in 2D physic-focused engine games with cute sticky balls as characters. Such examples are World of Goo and Gumboy. Now it is the Gish turn. The game, which is different from the two others, features a brave ball of tar - Gish. Gish's girl, Brea, is kidnapped and he should play the hero and find her no matter what happens. This game is a simple 2D platform game; you have to avoid enemies, avoid obstacles and collect coins. Sounds like the same formula over and over? It is not. Gish is more versatile than you think, he can stick to walls and ceilings, he can make himself more rigid or loose depending on his needs. Gish heavily relies on physics, and most of the game features very smart physic puzzles. You should use Gish to solve them while avoiding enemies in dark undergrounds. The presentation of the game is amazing, and Chronic Logic deserves the recognition of an astonishingly well done game. It is very recommendable for everyone. |
